It honours the meeting of two families, the Hickey’s and the Rosenfeld’s, and a commitment to carrying on a legacy.

This story begins in World War Two…

Thomas Hickey Senior, and his best mate, Barry Rosenfeld were both serving at the time, and were in battle overseas, alongside our brave diggers.

Unfortunately, as so many were, Barry Rosenfeld was killed in action in Italy.

Determined to carry on his name, Thomas Hickey returned to New Zealand, acquired a farm and suitably named it ‘Rosenfeld’ in honour of his fallen best mate.

Today the name has been proudly carried on in Rosenfeld Constructions, and by Paul “Barry” Hickey and his son Ryan “Thomas” Hickey, in honour of Barry and Thomas, the ANZAC’s and the sacrifices they made so we could live our dream in the lucky country.
